Breanna Crowell | Therapist in Knoxville, TN

I’m Breanna Crowell, a therapist in Knoxville, Tennessee. I provide in-person therapy for clients in Knoxville and the surrounding areas and telehealth services for clients residing in Colorado.

I grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where I spent my formative years and called home for most of my life. Recently, my husband and I decided to embark on a new adventure and moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. We’re excited to explore the Great Smoky Mountains and experience the local craft brewery scene. In my free time, I enjoy walking my dogs, playing volleyball with my husband, hiking to scenic hot springs, and traveling to new destinations. Having met my husband just before turning 30, I empathize with the challenges of being single in your late 20s and navigating the often-frustrating world of online dating. Volleyball has been a lifelong passion, from my competitive youth to playing collegiately at the University of Northern Colorado, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Communication in 2010. Driven by my fascination with relationships, I pursued a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling, specializing in Couples and Family Therapy, from the same university in 2014.

After graduating, I worked within the In-Home Therapy setting, providing family therapy for adolescents and their families struggling with conflict, working to keep their children from being removed from the home, and reintegrating adolescents back into the home. This experience set the foundation for my systemic and attachment-based approach. Although working with families and adolescents was rewarding, I pivoted to adults and couples as I entered private practice, where I saw how powerfully our childhoods continue to impact us. I wanted to find a way to support clients in healing, even if those in our family weren’t ready.

Being a constant pursuer of knowledge, I continued my journey by getting trained in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy. I believed in the power of EFCT so much that I engaged in additional training and supervision. I experienced EFCT transforming my work with couples and providing them with a new way of interacting with each other. As I addressed childhood wounds and improved the bond between couples, I realized something was missing. My clients were gaining deep insight and understanding of their triggers, but at times they were still stuck in the same responses.  After pursuing training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, my clients’ progress amplified! They were truly Breaking Free.

I offer in-person therapy in Knoxville, Tennessee and secure telehealth for clients in Colorado. I’m honored to walk alongside people as they gain emotional freedom, and I’m excited to start your journey with you.
