Accelerated Resolution Therapy

What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidenced-based model that uses eye movements and bilateral brain stimulation to move through stressors and traumas. ART reduces negative sensations from distressful memories and replaces haunting, negative images with positive images. ART was developed by Laney Rosenzweig in 2008. Laney was trained in EMDR and started doing different things outside of the EMDR protocol and had phenomenal results. Her clients were experiencing relief in one session compared to the belief that relief takes months through the EMDR protocol. Laney created an overview of the difference between EMDR and ART.

My approach to ART

Due to the effectiveness of ART, I incorporate ART into my services very quickly. Through ART, negative memories from childhood, insecure relationships with caregivers, and any other stressors that could have impacted development will be processed. Those memories and experiences have created negative beliefs about oneself, triggers that people currently overreact to, and negative coping strategies like lashing out or keeping everything in for fear of burdening others. I will also use ART to heal symptoms of PTSD from any traumas and to help address insecurities and destructive coping strategies.
