About

I’ve lived in Colorado for decades, and when I’m not working, you will find me walking my fur babies, playing volleyball with my husband and friends, hiking to the best hot springs, or attending local festivals. I met my husband a few days before my 30th birthday, so I understand the struggles of being single as I was “getting older.” I also had to experience the discouraging culture of online and app dating. Competitive volleyball was a part of my upbringing, and I had the opportunity to play at the collegiate level at the University of Northern Colorado. In 2010, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Communication. With an innate interest in relationships, in 2014, I pursued a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling with an emphasis in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Northern Colorado.

After graduating, I worked within the In-Home Therapy setting, providing family therapy for adolescents and their families struggling with conflict, working to keep their children from being removed from the home, and reintegrating adolescents back into the home. This experience set the foundation for my systemic approach. Although working with families and adolescents was rewarding, I pivoted to adults and couples as I entered the Private Practice setting as I saw how our childhoods have impacted us. I wanted to find a way to support clients in healing, even if those in our family weren’t ready.

Being a constant pursuer of knowledge, I continued my journey by getting trained in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy. I believed in the power of EFCT so much that I engaged in additional training and supervision. I experienced EFCT transforming my work with couples and providing them with a new way of interacting with each other. As I addressed childhood wounds and improved the bond between couples, I realized something was missing. My clients were gaining deep insight and understanding of their triggers and how their childhoods impacted them, but at times, they were stuck in having the same responses to those triggers. Although very beneficial and cathartic, it wasn’t enough. After pursuing training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, my clients’ progress amplified! My clients were truly Breaking Free. I’m honored to work alongside people as they gain emotional freedom, and I’m excited to start your journey with you!
